Curriculum
School follows the syllabus in strict accordance of CBSE, New Delhi. Medium of instruction is English, Hindi is taught as compulsory subject upto class X whereas Sanskrit is taught as subject from Class VI to VIII. To nurture the students as global learners, the academic programmes of the school is bosed on curriculo drawn from CBSE It comprises four phases viz. the Elementary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary stages. The system of pre midterm, midterm, post midterm ond final examination, followed throughout leads to seamless progressive and continuous assessment and fead back on learning.
Pre-Primary curriculum

Our Pre-Primary school curriculum gives a great mix of activities and games impacting mind, body and soul. Thus building a strong foundation for the little children to learn grow and imbibe essential life skills.
Our Pre-school curriculum is full of fun activities, musical experiences, story, narration, display charts.flash cards, educational toys, craftwork and healthy mix of indoor and outdoor play ensure your child gets the best pre-school experience possible. The focus here is on preparing the little ones for formal school. We aim to ensure that child should enjoy the learning process in school and looks forward to come to school everyday.
The Elementary Curriculum
The Elementary school is from Grodes I to V. The CBSE curriculum, with additional components to meet local needs, enables children to think about their studies from an international prospectus. The aim is to provide holistic development and a firm, relevant and useful foundation in Mathematics, English and Science. It is ensured that experimental learning methodology, the best practices of CBSE and NCERT syllabus are synergised and implemented at this stage.
The Middle Curriculum
The middle school is from Grades VI to VIII. It builds on the elementary stage and develops the children's knowledge and skills in Mathematics, English and Science. The Housemaster/Housemistress and teachers help to monitor the academic growth and development of each child. The curriculum prepares students for secondary school curriculum. Communication plays a major role in the modern world. All education is futile without the development of proper communication skills among the students. Elocution, Debates, Group discussion, Essay writing, News reading, Extempore & Speech by the students play a key role in the development of communication skills.
The Secondary School Curriculum
In Grades IX and X, CBSE curriculum is followed throughout the year. Teachers assess the students on the basis of written tests as well as varied activities. Regular remedial and extra classes provide the much needed fill up in classes. At the end the students are well prepared to appear for CBSE exams as well as take up a corner of their choice
The Senior Secondary School Curriculum
In Grades XI and XII CBSE curriculum is followed throughout the year. Teachers assess the students based on regular assessment in the form of class tests as well as pre-boards tests. Finer tips to attempt the question papers, especially the higher order thinking skill questions and score well in the Board examinations are regularly shared by the experienced teachers in the form of mock tests & feedback there on.
The Senior Secondary Section prepares students for competitive examination which will determine the career prospects of the students. The learning environment in the school is conducive to all round development and growth. Emphasis is on participatory learning through discussion, seminars, projects and numberous activities. We offer a supportive environment to weaker students extra/remedial classes from time to time for those who require special attention.
Promotion and Performance Profile
- Promotion to the next class is considered on the basis of the results of all the assessments and performance throughout the year.
- 75% attendance of the total working days throughout the academic session is mandatory for promotion to the next higher class/appearing for board examination.
Performance Profile
The performance profile carries the student's yearly progress, performance, attendance and result. This performance profile is communicated to Parents/guardians at the end of each term.
English & Mathematics Lab:
Focus on English Speaking is an important feature of the school and a Language Lab has been established which actively inculcates spoken English amongst the students. The complexities of Mathematics concepts are eased through widely resourceful lab set up at our school based on the creative ideas and methods.
Computer Lab:
The computer laboratory comprises of 50+ computers and is fully accessible to the students. It has advance infrastructure in terms of hardware and software which caters to the requirement of both the students and teachers alike. We have Wi-Fi facility made available to students for their project work. We have a separate computer lab for primary students too where they get acquainted with cyber world. We cannot think of life without computers these days and therefore computer education is an integral part of our school curriculum. The computer classes and practical begins right from class I. For classes IX and X students, a special course is rendered to help them in their career choice.
Exhibition:
Exhibition is organized every year, providing platform to the students to exhibit their creativity, skill and knowledge.
ASL LAB:
Assessment of speaking and learning a new concept of CBSE has already been introduced in the school. Using different electronic gadgets, the students themselves find out their faults and enjoy their speaking skill.
Seminars and workshops:
"Learning is life long experience" so to update knowledge various seminars and workshops are organized for students and teachers. Training and orientation imparted to teachers can equip them with the development and fresh invented methods which would ultimately be instilled among students to their intellectual growth. Renowned Academicians with vast experience conduct these orientation programs and train the teachers. Retention of teachers play vital role in order to sustain the progress of the institution. Provision is therefore made to accord wide recognition to the loyalty, sincerity and dutifulness of teachers. A recreating needs are provided in order to generate new spirit in teachers and develop in them a sense of attachment.
Excursion Trips and Picnics:
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page" - Saint Augustine To make our students to understand theory better, we take them to science exhibitions, field trips, picnics, nature trips, Planetarium, museum, historical places, botanical garden, amusement park, hill station and other interesting spots. Thus help them to understand their curriculum in a better way.
Educational Seminar and Student Safety Programs:
Educational and child safety programs are conducted regularly in school. Child abused monitoring committee is running functionally in school.
Personality Development:
Time to time special programs and workshops are conducted by specialists from various backgrounds for students and teachers. Students from class IX and X are given career counseling and guidance by the principal as well as resource persons in the field.
Sports and Games:
A healthy mind resides in healthy body. The school is having excellent indoor and outdoor facilities for sports. Coaching is provided by enthusiastic and well qualified staff for different sports. Indoor facilities include chess, carom, table tennis etc. Outdoor facilities include volleyball, kho-kho, cricket, badminton etc. Every year annual sports are being organized in the school during winters. School is actively participating in various inter-school events organized by CBSE as well as sports organized at district and state level.
Co-Curriculum Activities:
We also believe in exploring hidden talents in the children. Apart from general routine, there is always something happening at SMPS. Inter-class, inter-house and inter-school competitions are held regularly in our school like Olympiads, Elocution, Quiz, Debate, Essay, Story and Poetry writing, Handwriting. Spelling, Painting, Drawing, Drama, Dance, Singing, Cycling, Games, Sports, Athletic meet and many more programs for the spread of literacy and social service. House system-In order to develop healthy competitions, team-spirit and cooperation, the school is divided into four houses named Raman, Gandhi, Tagore and Pratap. Activities are conducted to refresh students, build confidence, explore possibilities, develop talents, ignite interest, chisel fitness, polish concepts enhance team work and to prepare students for competitions.
Health & Medical Care:
The school pays special attention to the students' well- being. All the students are put through an annual examination by specialists.
